Dr. Rodgers is a professional violinist with a solo, orchestral, and teaching career in both California and Nevada and has been a first violinist with the Henderson Symphony. She served as the Beginning Strings and String Ensemble instructor at a college in Southern California, as well as the conductor for the Strictly Strings Ensemble. Dr. Rodgers has been teaching violin privately for over 38 years and has taught all ages and levels, maintaining private studios in both California and Nevada. She has also served as concertmaster of several orchestras, performs yearly for the City of Orange Tree Lighting Ceremony, the Crystal Cathedral, and has performed for the Pope.
Her professional endeavors include holding the position of Director of Education for a music/math research institute and 18 years of teaching grades 1-6 in the public schools, including 7 years in South Central Los Angeles. She has authored 6 children’s math storybooks that are currently used internationally, and conducted numerous teacher training seminars throughout the United States. She currently teaches online early childhood education graduate level courses for University of Arizona Global Campus. Dr. Rodgers is also a violin faculty member with Nevada School of the Arts.
Dr. Rodgers holds a Doctorate of Education in Institutional Management and an Early Childhood Specialist Certificate. Further credentials include a Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education and Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies. She is a member of American String Teachers Association (ASTA).
