Online and In Studio Violin Lessons
Welcome! I provide both online and in studio violin lessons. As a private instructor and classically trained professional violinist for over 40 years, I received the majority of my training under the tutelage of Elizabath Ivanoff Holborn, student of Ivan Galamian, who not only lovingly taught the skills and repertoire, but the great joy of being a violinist. My desire is to share this knowledge and passion with each of my students.
Online Lessons

After 38+ years of teaching violin, I found there is a growing need for students to be able to receive instruction online whether because of travel conflicts, illness, living in remote areas, or simply wanting to be in the comfort of their own home, and more recently, COVID-19. Having "Skyped" a few lessons, I felt dissatisfied with the lag time and frozen screens. I searched for a high quality online experience equal to that of an in-person lesson. After much research and pilot testing, I found a platform which allows me to play the piano and violin with students in real time - WITH NO PITCH DISTORTION! It supports both Mac and PC computers. The online venue allows me to share my screen with students so I can demonstrate in real time, show how-to videos, and administer online pitch, sight-reading, and music theory practice exercises. Best of all, students also receive a video link of their lesson each week as well as any documents and music that were uploaded during their lesson!
As my private student, you will be provided with practice recordings. You may download recordings of your weekly scales, etudes, exercises, and solos to assist you with your practice each week. You will also be able to download fingerings and bowings to your solos. These online tools are available to you 24/7!
